Prada, luxury house with the most LEED certifications

Italian fashion house Prada has become the luxury brand with the most Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design v4.1 (LEED) certifications in its stores, totaling 81.

The Prada group in green transition

During the year 2021, the Italian fashion house began a sustainability mission for its points of sale, particularly in terms of energy consumption performance, water, waste, transportation, as well as the well-being of people.

This mission eventually resulted in many Prada stores obtaining LEED certification. LEED was launched in the U.S. by the U.S. Green Building Council in 2000 and is the most widely used green building rating system in the world. It takes into consideration several issues, including the sustainability of buildings. Its goal is to improve environmental and human health through more sustainable building construction.

In order to achieve this, Prada has implemented a system to measure the air quality and ecological impact of its stores, developed by the consulting firm FGB (Future Green Building). In particular, Prada has used the Arc technology platform, designed to improve the energy, water and waste performance of its stores. To this end, the group has put in place several means, such as an evaluation questionnaire submitted to its employees, so that they can take stock of all the points of sale and of their personal well-being within the company.

Which stores have been awarded ?

In more detail, Prada has three LEED building design and construction certifications. 57 relate to its LEED v4 interior design and construction stores. These certifications include the Scandicci factory near Florence, the Levanella logistics center near Arezzo, and the Milanese laboratory of its Marchesi 1824 pastry shop, among others viagra femenina preu.

Finally, 81 stores have been awarded LEED v4.1 operations and maintenance certification. These include the London and Milan flagships, as well as the Parisian Prada store on rue de Grenelle, and its subsidiary Miu Miu store on rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré. Another of its Miu Miu outlets located in Shanghai International Airport, more precisely in the APM luxury shopping mall, is the first to have obtained the highest “Platinum” distinction in the luxury sector.

Prada is the brand with the highest number of LEED certifications in the luxury sector,” the company said in a statement.
