Pomellato unveils its seventh video dedicated to the fight against violence against women. This prevention message, once again produced in collaboration with Jane Fonda, is in keeping with the Milanese jeweler’s DNA.
Owned by the Kering group – itself committed via its Foundation to the defense of women’s rights – Pomellato has been true to its motto “Pomellato at the service of women” since its creation in Milan in 1967.
Bought out in 2013 by the world’s number two luxury brand, the jewelry house has just released its seventh consecutive video in defense of women’s rights. While the House also speaks out on gender equality, the power of sisterhood and the need for inclusivity, violence against women is once again its common thread.
A persistent social problem
In it, 86-year-old Jane Fonda, author and ambassador of the Pomellato For Women program, speaks alongside other celebrities, including two other American actresses and activists, mental health advocate Jesse Williams and American humanitarian Lucy Hale. Ex-victims of domestic violence who have managed to rebuild their lives also testify.
Together, they denounce this scourge which, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), affects one in three women worldwide, or 736 million people. However, the WHO believes that due to the risks of high levels of stigmatization and under-reporting of sexual abuse, this figure could be much higher. The phenomenon is all the more serious in that this vicious circle tends to reproduce itself from generation to generation.
