On Saturday September 30, Phoebe Philo, former artistic director of Maison Celine, announced the launch of her eponymous brand on October 30. A postponement of the original date to the heart of autumn and outside Fashion Week.
Attention “Philophiles” – die-hard Phoebe Philo fans: the papess of Quiet Luxury, absent from the catwalks since 2017, is back with her own brand of luxury ready-to-wear and accessories. A project made possible by a minority stake from the LVMH group.
This weekend, the long-awaited designer finally lifted the veil on the launch of her very first collection. In an e-mail sent to fans and industry professionals and posted on her Instagram account, Phoebe Philo revealed a simple, enigmatic date: “October 30, 2023”.
This date contradicts the initial announcement, which set the brand’s launch in September.
A comeback outside Fashion Week
So, one month to the day before the fateful date, the designer reminded her fans right in the middle of Paris Fashion Week weekend.
In her e-mail, she also offered a brief glimpse of her future label’s visual identity via a creative moodboard GIF.
Here we see a series of portraits of women au naturel, details of immaculate fabrics and materials, and atmospheric shots of car headlights, plants and rhinestone lamps.
