It’s time for change in the hospitality and leisure sector: Kempinski Hotels, Europe’s oldest hotel group and Peloton, the world’s leading interactive fitness platform, have launched their first partnership. From now on, the rooms of the starred Kempinski hotels will be equipped with Peloton bikes.

On the cutting edge of the equipment offered by the New York-based firm, Peloton bikes are equipped with software ensuring complete security of user data. In addition, these ultra-connected devices feature double-sided pedals, allowing customers to click with their own cycling shoes (only if they have SPD-compatible cleats).

Because of their efficiency, Peloton bikes are emblematic of an online fitness platform with more than 3 million members. Peloton notably offers immersive content and live coaching. The immediacy and convenience of this format has made fitness more accessible and entertaining, with the interface’s emphasis on the social bond between members. Peloton fitness classes are notably available on several applications, iOS or Android. In addition, the New York firm has opened many rooms in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and now even within the German Kempinski hotels.

In this sense, the cooperation between Kempinski Hotel Group and Peloton is part of a strategy led by the American platform aimed at building a set of partnerships abroad. In this specific case, Peloton will be able to benefit from the notoriety of Kempinski, a group established in Europe since 1837. Renowned for their personalized and impeccable services, the 78 hotels of the German company are spread over 34 different countries, all around the globe. It is therefore aligned with this prestigious tradition that Peloton intends to join.

Conversely, the Kempinski Group also benefits from the efficiency of Peloton bikes, brought directly to hotel rooms in order to give their users the possibility of continuing their daily training in complete comfort. Benedikt Jaschke, Chief Quality Officer and member of the direction committee of Kempinski, states that “Today more than ever, our customers want to maintain and improve their physical shape, even when traveling or staying in a hotel and take the opportunity to continue their regular training. ” Just as the Kempinski Hotel in Berlin, the group’s hotels in Munich, Dresden, Frankfurt and Berchtesgaden have in turn adopted this new technology.

Both firms seem ultimately satisfied with this newly established partnership. Martin Richter, Director of Peloton Germany said: “We are pleased to partner with Kempinski Hotels and have the opportunity to bring our unique training experience within these exclusive luxury hotels. ”
