Maison&Objets returns to the Parc des expositions de Paris Nord in Villepinte from 8 to 13 September for a new edition with the theme of the sensitive meta.
The Maison&Objets trade fair has become THE world meeting place for fashion and home decoration. Twice a year, in January and September, it brings together all the players in the design and decoration industry. From small publishers to the biggest design brands, all the exhibitors present their new products to professionals in the sector. An open-air catalogue of the trends of the coming months.
First cancelled and then digitised during the health situation, the fair is back with zeal and conviction. This year’s edition will be a time of renewal.
The “metavolution”
Each session, the show tackles a different theme. Last January, the theme was “new luxuries”. For this second edition 2022, the theme – the Meta Sensitive – is in line with the times. Initiated by Vincent Grégoire, director of trends at NellyRodi, this innovative and inspiring concept breaks the codes and reverses the trends.
“The physical and digital worlds are no longer opposed. Better still, they merge, hybridize, and augment each other,” according to Vincent Grégoire. It is a meeting of two universes that everything opposes. Reality, know-how and craftsmanship facing a new digital world of all possibilities.
Some brands, such as the Italian company Saba, make their sofas in NFT.
Others are inspired by a dreamlike universe, such as Mojow, which offers armchairs in acidic colours and futuristic design, or Maison Dada with its pastel ceramics that make you want to bite into them. Iridescent, vitamin-packed shades with pop inspiration, soon to be brought into the metaverse. A digital revolution that has not escaped the decoration and design fair.
In parallel, a digital platform (Maison&Objets Academy) has been set up. Exclusively reserved for professionals in the sector, it offers exclusive content in the form of videos. A sort of Netflix for decoration and design.
A rich and diversified new edition
The programme includes more than 2,200 exhibitors, including 700 new ones, and 3,000 brands for this session. 14 sectors are represented. 38 conferences will take place during these 5 days, led by design, decoration and lifestyle professionals.
But that’s not all: there will be more than 15 spectacular installations, one of which will be orchestrated by the designer of the year chosen by the show, Christina Celestino.
Three “What’s new?” areas will showcase exhibitors’ new products under three different themes.
But the bi-annual show also seeks to showcase young designers to help them in their career development and to demonstrate the extent of their talent. The Rising Talent Awards will be organised, as well as a competition between young Dutch design stars with a 100% female jury. Finally, Future on stage will reward three winners selected by a jury of experts from among young companies in the field of decoration, design and lifestyle with coaching.
It will also be possible to continue the Maison&Objet experience with the Paris Design Week, from 8 to 17 September, during which Paris will become the international capital of design for 10 days.
