Macy’s brings a Hermès Americas executive onto its board of directors

The American department store chain has announced the arrival of Robert Chavez, who has been the head of Hermès Americas for a quarter of a century and is an expert in fashion and luxury goods. His skills should be useful as Macy’s faces difficulties, both internally and in a sluggish market.

 

Macy’s is strengthening its governance with the arrival of a major player in distribution and luxury goods.

 

On January 6, the New York-based department store chain announced the appointment of a new independent director, Robert Chavez, to its board of directors, effective April 1.

 

More than 45 years of experience

 

Robert Chavez, 69, has more than 45 years of experience in the retail sector, particularly in the luxury goods sector.
