L’Oréal Luxe: Michael O’Keefe relinquishes the reins of Aesop

The CEO of the Australian luxury cosmetics brand, acquired mid-2023 by the l’Oréal group, has announced his resignation. After leading Aesop to the top, he plans to take a sabbatical.

 

After 22 years at the helm of Aesop, Michael O’Keeffe is stepping down.

 

The London-based executive has announced his intention to let go of the reins of the Australian beauty brand, which will be acquired by the L’Oréal group in August 2023.

 

The world’s number one beauty brand has yet to name a successor. But it’s a safe bet that Michael O’Keefe ‘s task will not be an easy one, given his ability to steer Aesop, still headquartered in Melbourne, to the top.

 

Billionaire brands

 

When the brand was absorbed by L’Oréal Luxe, Cyril Chapuy, President of the division, explained that he was “looking forward to welcoming Michael O’Keeffe and his passionate teams to the L’Oréal family, to write together the new chapter of this iconic brand”. “ We are confident that Aesop will join L’Oréal Luxe’s club of “billionaire brands ”, making a significant contribution to L’Oréal’s future growth. “he added.
