The news came down on Friday January 31: after seven years of loyal service, Kim Jones is stepping down as Artistic Director of Dior Homme.
During Men’s Fashion Week in Paris at the end of January, Kim Jones caused a sensation with his new collection inspired by Christian Dior’s H Line for Fall-Winter 1954-1955, and a silhouette based on the two parallels of the letter H. Acclaimed by his peers, Kim Jones received a standing ovation from his close friends and long-time collaborators. This tribute was followed by an exceptional recognition: the award of the Chevalier de la Légion d’honneur medal by Anna Wintour, Artistic Director of Condé Nast.
Kim Jones is now taking her leave of Dior, a departure that seems to have been anticipated. Although no successor has yet been announced for the post of artistic director of its men’s line.
The news was confirmed this Friday, January 31, by the House of Dior in an official statement, in which it salutes the designer’s “aura and influence”, underlining his international impact.
Having already announced, last October, his departure from Fendi, where he had been Artistic Director for Women since 2020, Kim Jones is now severing his ties with LVMH.
