Israel bans the trade of all animal fur

In six months, the use of animal fur for profit will be banned in Israel. The country thus becomes the first one in the world to ban the trade of all animal fur.

 

This Wednesday, June 9, the State of Israel signed a ministerial decree banning the trade of animal fur for fashion, a historic step forward in animal rights, and a first in the world.

The trade in animal fur, import and export, will be prohibited except for the needs of research, education and certain religious traditions,” said the Ministry in a statement dedicated to this decree.
