Alexandre Vauthier’s fashion house, which has been in receivership since February 2024, has found its white knight. The Californian REVOLVE group, which specializes in online sales of fashion brands, has taken a majority stake in the company and intends to turn it into a global brand.
Good news at the height of Haute Couture Week!
Independent fashion house Alexandre Vauthier, in receivership since last February, was acquired on June 19 by Californian e-tailer REVOLVE. REVOLVE knows its new acquisition well. The group explained that it had “already sold over $4 million worth of Alexandre Vauthier products to its customers”.
Listed on the New York Stock Exchange, REVOLVE takes over 80% ofAlexandre Vauthier’s capital, while its eponymous creator and founder retains 20%.
REVOLVE will contribute the purchased assets to a newly-created entity, which will take over all 29 employees of the fashion house, and will invest in it six million euros over three years, including a purchase price of 250,000 euros.
A decade in the official Haute Couture calendar
After starting out at Thierry Mugler and Jean Paul Gaultier, Alexandre Vauthier launched his own Maison in 2009, whose recognizable, glamorous silhouettes and play on volumes have seduced the Fashion Sphere. A member of the Chambre syndicale since 2014, he had been parading for a decade as part of the official calendar of the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode.
