Guess and WHP Global have announced the acquisition of New York jeans maker rag&bone. Guess will obtain exclusive operating rights and share intellectual property ownership with WHP.
On February 16, 2024, Guess and WHP Global announced the acquisition of rag & bone, the New York jeans brand. The California fashion specialist Guess will take over the operating assets and share intellectual property rights with New York-based WHP Global, which specializes in acquiring global consumer brands and developing distribution channels.
The deal, amounting to 56.5 million euros paid by Guess, is expected to be finalized in the first quarter of the 2025 fiscal year.
Founded in 2002, rag&bone is known for its traditional denim craftsmanship combined with a modern aesthetic. “rag & bone is a brand known for its excellence in American fashion that, over the years, has remained true to its roots and founding values, with an unwavering commitment to quality and authenticity. This acquisition is the first in Guess’s 43-year history,” emphasizes Paul Marciano, co-founder and Chief Creative Officer of Guess. The group was ranked first in the Top 25 Los Angeles companies by Great Entrepreneurs magazine in August 2023, ahead of Universal Studios Hollywood and The Wonderful Company.
