This year’s Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève honored 21 timepieces and 17 brands, at a ceremony presided over this year by actress Carole Bouquet. The Grand Prix de l’Aiguille d’Or, the most prestigious award, went to IWC Schaffhausen for its Portugieser Eternal Calendar model, the “world’s most precise moon-phase wristwatch”.
Competition was fierce and the choice difficult once again this year, with a pre-selection of 90 watches from 57 brands.
Once again, the expert jury of the GPHG (Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève) made its decision, as it has done since its creation in 2001.
Its choice was unveiled with great fanfare at the prestigious Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) awards ceremony on November 13, presented this year by the elegant French actress Carole Bouquet.
21 prizes were awarded to 17 brands: Berneron, Bernhard Lederer, Bovet 1822, Chopard, Daniel Roth, De Bethune, H. Moser & Cie, Kudoke, Laurent Ferrier, IWC Schaffhausen, Massena Lab, Ming, Otsuka Lotec, Piaget, Rémy Cools, Van Cleef & Arpels and Voutilainen.
An entry in the Guinness Book of Records
Most eagerly awaited was the Grand Prix de l’Aiguille d’Or, awarded this year to IWC Schaffhausen for its highly complicated Portugieser Eternal Calendar model, no less than the “world’s most accurate moon-phase wristwatch”.
