The Foire Internationale d’Art Contemporain (FIAC) in Paris has announced its artistic and cultural programme for the 2021 season, which, like its predecessors, will take place in several emblematic locations in Paris from 21 to 24 October 2021.
For this new season, the works will be exhibited in several of the most prestigious places and emblematic sites in Paris. For example, as part of the FIAC Hors les Murs, the public will be able to see more than twenty sculptures, installations and creations in the Jardin des Tuileries, a monumental work by Alexandre Calder entitled Flying Dragon in Place Vendôme and finally a dialogue with the works of Eugène Delacroix led by Jean Claracq in the Musée national Eugène Delacroix. Here, the aim is to allow a dialogue between the artists’ works and the Parisian heritage, while allowing a wide audience to access the best of contemporary creation.
The Centre Pompidou, the Bourse de Commerce and the Auditorium of the Louvre Museum will host the Parades for FIAC programme, which will offer performances at the crossroads of performance, dance and film experiments.
Simultaneously with the FIAC, the second edition of the FIAC Online Viewing Rooms will be held from 20 to 25 October. Bringing together no less than 212 exhibitors, 43 of whom are exclusive, FIAC Online Viewing Rooms is a platform designed to connect exhibitors with the broad public of FIAC collectors and enthusiasts. The Chance Encounter function, which allows for the random discovery of works, as well as the ability to conduct selective searches combining several categories, is back, along with several other options.
Thanks to all this, the FIAC is equipped with tools enabling it to reach a wider public, which would normally be less inclined to go to this type of event. A desire to get closer to the public, especially after the shock and haemorrhaging of culture during the long pandemic.
