Fendi is inaugurating a new Sustainability section on its website. The House, which belongs to the LVMH group, wishes to emphasise its social and environmental responsibility. A commitment based on three pillars: environment, supply chain and community.

This announcement follows the laying of the foundation stone of the “Fendi Factory” in Tuscany on 11 November last, the future centre of excellence of the House dedicated to creation, development as well as training, production and innovation under the banner of sustainable development.

Fendi will promote complete transparency across every link in its production, from the sustainable materials used to craft Fendi’s high-end products, to initiatives at its stores. The storied Roman luxury house is addressing the imperatives of preserving and passing on unique savoir-faire, including training talented new generations at the Massoli Academy in Rome and participation in the LVMH Métiers d’Excellence program.

Embracing the LVMH LIFE (LVMH Initiatives For The Environment) program, Fendi strives to offer responsible products. One emblematic example is the FF Green Interlace capsule collection. The iconic Peekaboo and Baguette bags have been revisited with recycled polyester and crafted with the house’s artisanal interlace technique. The bags are available in green to symbolize sustainability, as well as Fendi’s signature tobacco/brown.

Another high-profile initiative is the “Hand in Hand” project, where Fendi invited Italian artisans to transform its iconic Baguette bag into a veritable objet d’art, emphasizing that respect for timeless craft expertise is a fundamental component of environmental responsibility.

Even Fendi display windows are going green for the holiday season. The recycled – and recyclable – windows are crafted from sugarcane-derived foam as well as leather offcuts. Fendi flagships in Rome, London, New York and Paris have a special surprise for holiday shoppers too. Special Murano glass chandeliers will be installed after disassembling 37 chandeliers in existing stock at the historic Mazzuccato glass works to create 17 stunning new fixtures. When Fendi embraces sustainability, nothing is lost and everything is transformed!
