Rémy Cointreau has unveiled results below expectations for its second quarter of the 2025-2026 financial year, weighed down in particular by a collapse in its cognac sales in China.
Rémy Cointreau’s revenue fell 15.1% year-on-year to €268.8 million. As a result, the owner of the Rémy Martin brand has lowered its annual outlook.
China in free fall, the United States to the rescue
For the July-September period, the French spirits group suffered an organic decline in sales of around 11% compared with the previous year, exceeding the anticipated decline of around 9%.
This decline is attributable to the cognac division, the group’s core business (approximately 70% of revenue), which fell by nearly 18% in published data (and 13.5% organically) over the same quarter, with revenue of €168.9 million, largely due to a sharp drop in demand in China.
