The French Haute Couture House announced that it has postponed its highly anticipated fashion show scheduled in Hong Kong in March. This announcement comes as the island seeks to maintain its attractiveness in the luxury sector.
Christian Dior has announced the indefinite postponement (without setting a new date) of its highly anticipated fashion show in Hong Kong, originally scheduled for March, according to local authorities.
“We have just received a notification from the organizer informing us that the event will be postponed. In fact, postponements of large-scale events are common. We continue to welcome them in Hong Kong,” the government said in an email.
The famous French fashion house was set to present its Autumn 2024 Men’s pre-collection by its artistic director Kim Jones in Hong Kong. The South China Morning Post estimates the event would have cost around $13 million and was expected to attract nearly 1,000 participants.
Christian Dior did not immediately respond to requests for comments, leaving the reasons for this postponement shrouded in mystery.
