Already down 8.2% in 2023, total Champagne sales have fallen a further 9.2% in 2024. The uncertain climate and inflation have had an even greater impact on exports (-10.8%) than in France (-7.2%).

 

Champagne gets the after-party blues…

 

And the prestigious sparkling wine has all the more reason to be, having just announced a further fall in sales in 2024. According to a press release from the Comité Champagne, sales fell by 9.2% to 271 million bottles last year. In 2023, sales had already fallen by 8.2%.
