Celine: back to the sixties

Hedi Slimane’s latest Winter 2024-2025 collection for Celine women is a chic tribute to the silhouettes of the sixties and to the House’s DNA. The short film that puts it into orbit is also an introduction to its first beauty line and its new fragrance Zouzou.

Nostalgia for black and white, James Bond films, miniskirts, the elegance of stewardesses…when they still wore a bibi, and for glossy France and the 60s in general…

A decade marked by the Twiggy model, inseparable from the mutinous leggy silhouettes of Mary Quant, who died last year at 93 (April 13, 2023).

There’s a bit of all that in the images from Celine’s latest winter 2024-25 collection, dubbed “de l’Arc de Triomphe”, released online via Celine.com, Instagram and YouTube since March 12. True to form since his arrival in 2018 as artistic director of the Maison, a subsidiary of the Lvmh group, Hedi Slimane had chosen a date offset from Fashion Week to show his latest looks.

A couture and cinematic bath

After the discreet charm of the national library, this time he plunges us into a couture and cinematic bath, a world more than perfect. And which would be a little chilly without the sensuality of the models’ bare legs, enhanced by ultra-thin skirts and dresses (no pants this season…) and a few touches of leather or faux fur. The haunting, mysterious soundtrack, imagined by young composer Mélanie Chédeville, contributes to the almost hypnotic character of this sixties kaleidoscope.
