In Dallas at Neiman Marcus North Park, discover the exclusive Balmain x Barbie pop-up experience, January 13-30, 2022.
Neiman Marcus has partnered with Balmain to create a special pop-up store showcasing the luxury brand’s collaboration with the Barbie doll. The pop-up mimics the glass pavilion of the iconic Grand Palais in Paris, where customers can sit on Parisian benches and experience the limited edition collection in a pedestrian garden similar to the famous Tuileries.
Guests will enjoy weekend activities that include a live DJ set, a custom cotton candy machine and photo opportunities in a life-size Barbie doll box. The exclusive experience is also a celebration of Neiman Marcus’ 10-year relationship with Balmain. The store is the multi-brand luxury retailer with the largest assortment of the French fashion house’s collections in the world.
“Many of our customers have told us they want to have fun with fashion again. The special partnership between Balmain and Barbie does that and more,” said Lana Todorovich, president and chief merchandising officer of Neiman Marcus. “As Neiman Marcus continues to innovate in the way we engage with our customers, we are thrilled to partner with an exclusive pop-up experience that celebrates the excitement of getting dressed and brings a modern, multicultural version of the Barbie brand to our Dallas NorthPark store.”
Much of this limited edition collection plays on the interpretation of Balmain’s iconic codes, such as its mesmerizing Labyrinth motif. Creative director Olivier Rousteing and his team of designers were also inspired by the iconography of the famous Barbie. Between bags that take up the packaging of the dolls and a very pink universe, this collaboration is the perfect blend of the fashion house with the famous doll.
Olivier Rouseing explains his vision for the collection: “I love how the inspiration flowed back and forth for this special Balmain-Barbie partnership. It’s easy to see how my design team and I have taken the flair, colors and graphics very familiar from the Barbie world. (…) This limited edition collection also puts a new and unexpected spin on many of Balmain’s most famous signatures, including the house’s 50-year-old marinière and Labyrinth motif. The unique Dallas pop-up store at Neiman Marcus builds on this spirit, cleverly weaving two distinct visions together. With its mix of iconic touches found on my hometown’s finest avenues and a very pop twist on familiar Balmain boutique codes, we know this is definitely the Paris where Barbie would hang out.”

At Neiman Marcus, there are a number of exclusive designs, including a monogrammed maxi dress for $8,495, a Balmain printed sweatshirt dress with a boat neck for $1,395, or an oversized denim jacket with embroidered badges for $5,350.
