Alessandro Michele creates a surprise with his first Resort collection for Valentino

Guaranteed surprise effect: Maison Valentino has just unveiled a Cruise collection imagined by Alessandro Michele. This is the designer’s first line for the Roman brand following his appointment as creative director last March.

It seems that Alessandro Michele has not lost his flair for spectacle. The Italian designer, formerly at the helm of Gucci, made an early and surprise return on the night of June 17.

Following his appointment at the end of March as the new creative director of Valentino, Alessandro Michele and his first collection for the Roman House were not expected until September Fashion Week. However, the designer’s eagerness to embrace Valentino’s codes couldn’t wait. Just two months after his official start, Alessandro Michele has unveiled a surprise Cruise collection titled “Before the Debuts.” A foretaste — more like a real feast — in the form of a lookbook composed of 171 looks.
