Gilda Perez Alvarado, Maxime d’Angeac and Omer Acar take on new responsibilities in 2024 at Orient Express and Fairmont, two brands housed within the Accor Group’s Luxury Lifestyle division.
Three new additions to the Accor hotel group in 2024. From January 1, Gilda Perez Alvarado will be General Manager of Orient Express, and Maxime d’Angeac its Artistic Director. Omer Acar will take over as General Manager of Fairmont.
Gilda Perez Alvarado will continue in her role as Chief Strategy Officer of the Accor Group, and will take up the position of Managing Director of Orient Express. The prestigious Orient-Express brand is co-owned by the Accor Group and SNCF. It is in the midst of a renaissance, with the planned relaunch in 2024 of not only the legendary train that will run from Rome to Split via Paris and Istanbul, but also the launch of a collection of Hotels. While a dozen establishments are planned by 2030, the first will open in the ultra-touristy cities of Rome and Istanbul.
2026 will also see the launch of the world’s largest sailing ship, the Orient Express Silenseas, the result of Accor’s partnership with Chantiers de l’Atlantique, the leading cruise ship builder.
After starting her career with PwC, Gilda Perez-Alvarado joined JLL in 2004. Working in the “Hotel & Hospitality” division of real estate specialist JLL, she has accumulated “twenty years’ experience in strategic and financial consulting with the sector’s leading owners and investors”.
She joined the Accor Group last October, as Director of Strategy and member of the Management Committee. In this role, she oversees global strategy, hotel owner relations and strategic partnerships.
