Coperni: Still as desirable as ever, how the brand ended up in financial difficulty ?

Despite the media sensation surrounding its spray-painted dress and its runway show at Disneyland, on June 11, the Paris Commercial Court authorized Coperni’s court-supervised restructuring, as requested by its founders Arnaud Vaillant and Sébastien Meyer.

 

“In fashion, being cool isn’t a business model,” commented consultant Moriba Kobe in a video posted on Instagram by his account, etatdelaculture. He was referring to Coperni’s court-supervised restructuring, which was approved on June 11 by the Paris Commercial Court. Six days later, Arnaud Vaillant, CEO and co-founder of the brand, announced the news, explaining that this decision will “protect Coperni SAS” as well as its employees.

 

Founded in 2013, Coperni is best known for creating a buzz on social media, such as during its Spring/Summer 2023 fashion show, during which American model Bella Hadid was dressed in a spray-painted dress, created by robots.
