A symbol of Champagne excellence, Maison Taittinger has cultivated world-renowned expertise for several generations. In Reims, Luxus+ Premium members can experience the “Instant Gourmet” at Taittinger—a refined springtime immersion blending heritage and the art of hospitality.
A journey into the world of Taittinger
The journey begins early in the morning in Paris, heading toward Reims. To fully savor this Champagne getaway for a few hours, the trip starts with a comfortable ride aboard a luxury private van provided by ALLO VTC Reims, a Reims-based company specializing in wine tourism tours in Champagne for prestigious clients and a partner of Luxus+. Hired for the occasion and led by Kévin Bodnard, our private driver shares his passion for his hometown with us during the ride.
After an enriching drive and a brief, contemplative stop in front of the majestic Reims Cathedral under beautiful spring sunshine, we are welcomed at 10 a.m. at the entrance to the prestigious Maison Taittinger by Martine, our guide for this morning tour.
The experience begins with a documentary screening that traces the House’s history, its family heritage, and the values that have shaped its international reputation. Through carefully curated images, the House highlights its core values, the passing down of its expertise, and the historical roots that have earned it international renown—all embodied by Vitalie Taittinger, who has served as President since 2020.

Is the experience at Maison Taittinger effervescent ? Absolutely !
Next, we head to the House’s famous cellars, located in the heart of the historic Saint-Nicaise site, which has been completely reinvented after 18 months of renovation. “They (the cellars, ed.) contain the remains of the abbey that Benedictine monks built in the 13th century to venerate, at the site of his burial, the relics of the man who was the 11th Bishop of Reims,” Martine explains.
The abbey’s vaults and cellars—former chalk cellars dating back to the Gallo-Roman era—have remained intact. Our descent into these chalk cellars thus turns out to be a journey outside of time, a quest for a hidden and jealously guarded treasure.
The descent into these underground galleries carved into the chalk immerses visitors in a timeless world, where thousands of bottles rest, sheltered from light and temperature fluctuations. Today, it houses part of the production of Champagne Taittinger, including the legendary Cuvée des Comtes de Champagne.
For about an hour, Martine reveals the secrets of champagne production and those of this exceptional historic site, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The highlight of this experience is, of course, the tasting—a true moment of shared enjoyment. Thanks to a selection of culinary pairings specially crafted by the chef of the Polychrome restaurant, we’ll discover the House’s two iconic cuvées: the Prestige Rosé and the Brut Millésimé. In the glasses, the pale gold hue comes alive with bubbles of absolute finesse. From the very first sip, the liveliness and freshness of the subtle brioche and floral notes instantly awaken our senses. It’s a delicate lacework of liquid foam, a moment suspended in time and filled with warmth, where the aromatic complexity is savored in harmony with the dishes carefully selected by the chef—as well as with laughter, conversation, and knowing glances. Our taste buds are in a frenzy at the genius of the Champagne blend.

It is with a serene spirit, a light heart, and a wealth of precious memories that this morning comes to a close in the concept store, as we take in the memories of our visit to Maison Taittinger. Beyond exploring the venue, this experience organized by Luxus+ Club also reminds us how luxury remains a vehicle for connection and the passing down of traditions. Professionals, enthusiasts, and the simply curious come together here, united by a shared interest in French heritage, craftsmanship, and the art of living.
