Despite a return to slight organic growth and a marked rebound in the fourth quarter, Rémy Cointreau continued to feel the effects of the slowdown in the cognac market and reported a decline in revenue for its 2025–2026 fiscal year.
Rémy Cointreau posted revenue of €935.3 million for its fiscal year ending in March 2026, compared to €984.6 million a year earlier, representing a reported decline of 5%. The group notes, however, that its sales grew by 0.2% on an organic basis, marking a return to growth after several difficult fiscal years.
The fourth quarter was the main driver of this improvement. Sales grew by 8.9% on an organic basis.
Cognac is regaining momentum but remains under pressure
In fact, it was the cognac division, the group’s primary business, that enabled the slight late-year recovery in revenue. Sales in this division rose by 15.5% on an organic basis in the final quarter of the fiscal year, benefiting in particular from a strong recovery in China.
However, for the year, cognac generated €573.6 million in revenue, compared to €611.8 million the previous year, representing a decline of 6.2%. On a like-for-like basis, the decline was limited to 0.5%, marking a gradual stabilization after several quarters of sharp contraction.
