The Italian group, which brings together 19 players in the transalpine fashion and luxury goods industry, has opened a site in Aubervilliers with the aim of strengthening ties with its French clients and creating an ecosystem of French SMEs. This Franco-Italian alliance aims to overcome the competition that still often dominates relations between the two countries…
Is Made in Italy coming to the rescue of Made in France?
HModa, the Italian industrial cluster created in 2017 and bringing together 19 transalpine luxury fashion production companies, inaugurated a hub in France, in Aubervilliers, on December 10.
Housed in a building previously occupied by a Nike showroom, Hmoda 126—as it is known—deliberately chose to set up in Seine-Saint-Denis, “which is establishing itself as one of the new nerve centers of the luxury industry,” explains the group. In 2020, Chanel itself opened 19M in Aubervilliers, a building dedicated to its crafts (embroidery, featherwork, millinery, etc.).

HModa 126 has 3,000 square meters of space, including a prototyping workshop, a research and development center, a training center thanks to a partnership with leading French fashion schools, an R&D center, and a showroom showcasing the group’s expertise. But its goal is not to be a simple showcase for the resources of the transalpine hub, whether in textiles, ready-to-wear, leather goods, shoes, denim, knitwear, or embroidery.
