After recently opening its largest store in Thailand, the Richemont Group jewelry house has just inaugurated its largest flagship store in Asia, in Tokyo. The two new stores elegantly combine the traditions of their host countries with Cartier’s expertise.
After unveiling its largest store in the magical country of Thailand in the middle of summer, Cartier has just inaugurated its largest flagship store in Asia at the start of the fall season. And it has chosen the perfect location for luxury shopping: the Ginza district of Tokyo.
While we know that it occupies four floors of the Hulic Ginza Sukiyabashi building in the Japanese capital, Cartier has not specified its exact size.
A tribute to Japanese culture
In any case, its spectacular and refined façade does not go unnoticed. Designed by Tokyo-based architectural firm Klein Dytham Architecture, it pays tribute to Japanese culture with fan-shaped geometric patterns inspired by seigaiha (blue ocean waves), a recurring motif in traditional Japanese fabrics and artwork. Superimposed on the exterior of the store, these patterns create undulations that bring softness to a highly geometric environment.
