Lacoste announced on Friday the appointment of Éric Vallat as Chief Executive Officer. The former CEO of spirits group Rémy Cointreau will succeed Thierry Guilbert on September 1.
A graduate of HEC Paris, Éric Vallat has 30 years of experience working for international groups in demanding environments in the fashion, luxury, and spirits industries, where he has held various management positions.
Previously, Eric Vallat “held various senior management positions within the LVMH group, notably at Louis Vuitton in Europe and Christian Dior Couture in Japan,” according to the press release.
“He then went on to manage the Bonpoint and J.M. Weston fashion houses, took over at Rémy Martin, and subsequently headed up the entire fashion and accessories division of the Richemont group,” the statement added.
He will succeed Thierry Guibert, who has been CEO of Lacoste since 2015 and will continue in his role as CEO of MF BRANDS GROUP and the Maus Frères group.
Thierry Guibert, CEO of MF Brands Group, said: “I have had the privilege of leading Lacoste for more than ten years, surrounded by remarkable teams, and of accompanying the profound transformation that has propelled the brand into a new dimension. I have now chosen to refocus my role on the management of the Group. (…) As CEO of MF Brands Group, I will of course remain (alongside Eric Vallat) to support him in this new phase.“
He added: ”I am confident that Eric Vallat will continue the momentum with the same high standards and team spirit, and take Lacoste into a new phase of development.”
Eric Vallat had requested his resignation in April from the position of CEO of Rémy Cointreau, which he had held since 2019. Franck Marilly succeeded him on June 25.
