Victoria’s Secret is making a big move.
On April 8, the American lingerie, clothing, and beauty group announced four major appointments. These include an executive creative director and a new brand president for Victoria’s Secret, a new president for the Pink line, and a new president in charge of the Beauty division.
These new executives, three of whom have been recruited from outside the company, are expected to help the Reynoldsburg, Ohio-based group get a fresh start. The company has struggled in recent years to move on from various scandals that have damaged its image (including its owner and former CEO Les Wexner’s ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, fashion shows deemed sexist and not inclusive, and cases of sexual harassment).
A designer in his own right
In a first, Victoria’s Secret has appointed a designer in his own right, Adam Selman, as executive creative director. His predecessor, Raùl Martinez, was a creative talent from the world of fashion journalism. He has since joined the global artistic direction team at Vogue (Condé Nast) following his departure from Victoria’s Secret.
