Valmont’s Blue Odyssey: a mythological journey for the festive season

For the festive season, Valmont invites its customers to plunge into the mythological world of Ulysses with gift sets from the “Blue Odysseus” collection. Inspired by the exhibition “Ulysse, We are all Heroes”, this festive assortment from the Swiss cellular cosmetics expert evokes the Greek mythological hero’s return to his family in Ithaca after a 20-year absence. The quest for beauty becomes a true adventure.

 

With The Blue Odysseus, the Valmont cosmetics brand uses an ancient myth as the theme for its end-of-year gift sets.

 

The return home of Homer’s Ulysses, the hero of the Trojan War, provides the ideal inspiration to encapsulate these moments of happiness to share with loved ones at the foot of the Christmas tree.

 

The Greek hero not only sailed with his companions across the Mediterranean: he also overcame many trials, from the sorceress Circe to the hypnotic sirens and the Cyclops Polyphemus. These thousand dangers are transformed here into exceptional surprises, perfect for the festive season.

 

New festive “tale” by Valmont

 

Ulysses’ epic journey is as much epic as it is symbolic, rewarding patience and perseverance. Despite the thousand perils in his path, the hero never loses sight of his goal: to return home to Ithaca.

 

Swiss cosmetics house Valmont reinvents the festive season with a series of exceptional creations, a tribute to the beauty of nature at the heart of Homer’s Odyssey.

 

The centerpiece of this collection is a sumptuous Blue Odysseus Advent Calendar, revealing 25 exclusive treasures. Every day, exceptional skincare products carefully selected from Valmont’s flagship ranges can be discovered.

The essential Elixir des Glaciers emerges from the waves in a precious wooden box. Protected by a blue lacquered wood case covered in gold powder, this collection of three prestigious skincare products, the result of unique expertise, illustrates the intimate connection between water and the excellence of Valmont beauty.

 

The Odyssey continues in the boutique with an exclusive: the Storie Veneziane box. This box, in an intense blue enhanced by gold dust, conceals a rare creation by master glassmaker Aristide Najean and Didier Guillon, artist and father of the Valmont Foundation. At its heart, a hand-blown Murano glass vase embodies the alliance of cosmetics and art. Alongside it, the Blu Cobalto I fragrance, in deep shades of blue and gold, is an olfactory ode to Venice and the Orient, two lands of legend.

 

A series of ultra-limited pieces is offered, each numbered and signed by the artists, to provide a unique and artistic experience.

 

The journey to the City of the Doges ends with the discovery ofan ultra-rare piece, produced in only ten copies: Blu Cobalto I, a precious extract concealed in a box, adorned with four mysterious Murano glass masks. These fragrances, conceived by Didier Guillon, plunge us into an unforgettable sensory journey.

 

Blue, the inseparable color of the Valmont identity

 

Blue is omnipresent in this festive collection, symbolizing not only the Mediterranean and the starry sky, but also the purity and authenticity of Valmont products. This deep blue serves as a thread running through the history and innovations of the Swiss skincare brand.

 

It is a reminder of the importance of water in its creations, notably its anti-aging skincare product l’Élixir des Glaciers. The latter is formulated with sturgeon DNA extracts and a combination of 3 minerals essential to the body (selenium, manganese and magnesium). As Valmont states on its website, “the Essence of Gold Sturgeon complex delays skin aging, stimulates cell regeneration and gives skin a radiant glow.”

 

Blue is also reflected in the name and design of its Blu Cobalto fragrance created in 2018. Inspired by the baroque exuberance of Campo San Moisè, Blu Cobalto I evokes the blue pigment used by the master glassmakers of Murano. The bottle features a blown-glass mask from the famous island, and a stopper sheathed in azure-blue leather. The embodiment of a moment suspended in time, it is reminiscent of “a blue leather glove abandoned on the cobblestones of the square, a passer-by picks it up and inhales its heady scent, a perfume that awakens all fantasies.”

 

Blue holds an important place in Valmont’s identity. This is perceptible in several of its campaigns, notably that of its two-phase make-up remover in August 2023. From the Swiss mountains to the Mediterranean Sea, from lavender blue to turquoise, the cellular cosmetics house is extending its color palette, while retaining its signature color.
