The Prix de la Photographie, Paris (PX3) and State of the World celebrate global creativity to raise awareness.

The Prix de la Photographie, Paris (PX3) is a world-renowned competition that showcases the exceptional talents of professional and amateur photographers from all corners of the globe. This year’s 2024 edition revealed powerful and poignant works that illustrate the diversity and richness of the photographic medium, while addressing profound social, environmental and human issues.

A world-renowned competition

Each year, PX3 welcomes a variety of photographs in diverse categories such as advertising, architecture, fine art, nature, portraiture and press. This 2024 edition saw thousands of photographers from all over the world apply, all eager to win the coveted title of “PX3 Photographer of the Year”. This prestigious award, in addition to bringing international recognition, includes financial rewards, publication in the annual PX3 book and an exhibition in famous galleries in Paris and elsewhere in the world.

This year’s winner, Julia Fullerton-Batten, captivated the jury with her series “He Gets Us”, which explores the profound symbolism of foot-washing, an act of reconciliation and mutual respect. Her work, characterized by a hyper-realistic, cinematic style, carries a message of peace and humility that resonates particularly well in today’s global context.

For his part, Mouneb Taim, winner of the Best New Talent 2024 award, presented “Living with War”, a moving image depicting the lives of Syrian civilians against a backdrop of relentless war. Through his lens, Taim pushes us to rethink our perception of global conflicts and to see war through the eyes of victims, often invisible in mainstream narratives.
