This year’s winner, Julia Fullerton-Batten, captivated the jury with her series “He Gets Us”, which explores the profound symbolism of foot-washing, an act of reconciliation and mutual respect. Her work, characterized by a hyper-realistic, cinematic style, carries a message of peace and humility that resonates particularly well in today’s global context.
For his part, Mouneb Taim, winner of the Best New Talent 2024 award, presented “Living with War”, a moving image depicting the lives of Syrian civilians against a backdrop of relentless war. Through his lens, Taim pushes us to rethink our perception of global conflicts and to see war through the eyes of victims, often invisible in mainstream narratives.
