From September 10 to 15, the Cannes Yachting Festival will unveil the latest innovations in the nautical world. The event will be held at the Port Canto on Cannes’ Vieux Port, with its new 2,000 m² marina.
Europe’s leading boat show is back! For its 47ᵉ edition, the Cannes Yachting Festival once again invests the Côte d’Azur for six days of exhibition. From September 10 to 15, boating enthusiasts will be able to discover the best of the international nautical offer.
The 2024 edition of the show is already looking promising. Over 600 international exhibitors are expected, presenting some 700 boats ranging from 5 to 50 meters. Sailing and motor boats, monohulls, multihulls, rigid and semi-rigid, new and pre-owned… there will be something for every taste.
A redesigned space
Following the redevelopment of the Vieux Port, the management of the Cannes Yachting Festival has had to adapt. Visitors will still be able to discover some 350 new boats, from 10 to 50 meters, but will have to go to the Port Canto to admire a marina specially designed for motorboats. Covering more than 2,000 m², the marina will feature a fleet of powerboats, presented by some 60 exhibitors from all over the world.
The stars of this annual event, the large yachts, will be moored in their usual positions on the Jetty and in the Super Yachts extension.
Marina
The 2024 edition of the Boat Show also has a number of new features to delight visitors. Visitors will be able to take advantage of a catering area offering an incomparable view of the Port Canto marina.
Those lucky enough to have access to the VIP Club will enjoy a 180-degree view from the roof of the Capitainerie. Designed by Roche Bobois, a partner of the Cannes Yachting Festival, this prestigious and confidential space promises to be a place of choice throughout the Show.
Another new feature is that access between the different exhibition areas will be facilitated by several motorized pontoons, enabling visitors to move easily between the exhibition zones, while allowing boats to go out for sea trials.
Towards more eco-responsible boating
Aware of the importance of ecological issues, this year the Cannes Yachting Festival has set up the “Innovation Route” program. This program aims to promote technological and eco-responsible innovations in the nautical sector: engines, propulsion, waste management, end-of-life boats, eco-design, optimization, innovative materials, etc.
“ Like all other industries, the nautical sector is not immune to environmental challenges, and has clearly understood that it needs to evolve to meet the sector’s decarbonization needs and the new demands of boaters. It seemed essential to us to make our contribution by highlighting the efforts and energy deployed by our exhibitors to build the future of the marine sector ”, declared Sylvie Ernoult, Director of the Cannes Yachting Festival.
“ Work on composites, recyclable resins, more environmentally-friendly engines, as well as design in the service of aerodynamics or connectivity for greater efficiency… the initiatives are numerous! We’re delighted to be highlighting them, as our common goal is to preserve our seas and oceans, especially for future generations. ”
To highlight all the initiatives dedicated to a better respect for the environment, specific signage will be set up to enable visitors to find out more and become more aware of these issues.
