TAG Heuer and surfing: a stronger maritime heritage

TAG Heuer unveiled its new version of theAquaracer Professional 300 off the coast ofItaly, in the presence of its renowned marine ambassadors, including surfer Laura Enever. A partnership that reinforces the brand’s commitment to water sports and reaffirms its position in the luxury watch market.

For decades, TAG Heuer, owned by the LVMH group since 1999, has forged an unrivalled reputation in the world of sports watches, thanks in particular to its close links with motor racing. Its commitment to water sports, a field in which the brand also excels, is equally remarkable.

Robust, XXL and cut out for diving, theAquaracer Professional 300 was born of the first diver from the Swiss company based in La Chaux-de-Fonds, created in 1978. It was relaunched in 2021, at the same time as its little sister Aquaracer Professional 200, designed to go from office to boat to chairlift.

The new version of the Aquaracer Professional 300 celebrates the brand’s maritime ties, while looking to the future with innovations that will appeal to water sports enthusiasts.

A marine heritage reinforced by choice ambassadors

TAG Heuer has always been a pioneering brand in the field of sports watches, with a historic presence in nautical competitions. As early as 1888, the watch brand was timing sailing races, a tradition that continues today with models such as theAquaracer. This strong link with the sea is symbolized by recent partnerships with top-level water sports figures such as Laura Enever, Kai Lenny, and Maya Gabeira. The 31-year-old surfer Laura Enever, in particular, embodies the bold spirit of the brand with her love of big waves, perfectly in tune with the robustness and performance of TAG Heuer watches.

The new Aquaracer Professional 300, unveiled this year, is designed to meet the demands of the most extreme water sports. The Aquaracer is not just a diving watch ”, saysJulien Tornare, TAG Heuer’s new CEO. It embodies the fusion of performance, durability and aesthetics, with guaranteed water resistance to 300 meters and optimal legibility even in the most difficult conditions, thanks toits Super-LumiNova-treated hands.

TAG Heuer doesn’t just sponsor events; it is directly involved in the surfing world. Since 2015, the brand has been the Official Timekeeper of the Big Wave Tour, a competition reserved for surfers tackling the gigantic waves. The slogan “ Don’t Crack Under Pressure ” finds its full meaning here, reflecting the resilience needed to tame colossal waves, and is perfectly embodied by surfers Laura Enever, Kai Lenny, and Maya Gabeira, who represent the brand’s indomitable spirit in this demanding sport.

Cutting-edge watch for a new generation of swimmers

The Aquaracer Professional 300 is more than just a fashion accessory; it’s a precision tool “designed for the modern adventurer”. With its latest variations, including a GMT variant and a model featuring a COSC-certified TH31 caliber, this new model combines robustness and sophistication. The GMT model, for example, offers dual time-zone functionality, essential for travelers and globetrotting athletes.

The launch of this new iteration of the Swiss company’s diver’s watch took place in a spectacular setting in Porto Santo Stefano, Tuscany, where the FlyingNikka, an ultra-modern monohull, demonstrated the power and speed that are also the hallmarks of the Aquaracer. This hydrofoil sailboat, described as the “ F1 of the seas ”, is sponsored by TAG Heuer, reinforcing the brand’s image as a key player in water sports.

At the same time, TAG Heuer continues to support athletes such as stand-up paddle-boarding world champion Kai Lenny and world-renowned surfer Maya Gabeira. These collaborations show that the brand doesn’t just make watches, but is deeply rooted in the culture of extreme sports.

The Aquaracer range, launched in 2021, is a perfect illustration of TAG Heuer’s commitment to pushing back the boundaries of technology and design in sports watches. By renewing its link with the ocean and partnering with internationally renowned sailors and surfers, the Swiss brand continues to position itself as a leader in diving watches. With this revisited Aquaracer Professional 300, TAG Heuer proves thatheritage andinnovation cancoexist harmoniously, offering water sports enthusiasts a watch that is both an indispensable tool and a symbol of their passion.
