The Italian group OTB announces the appointment of Stefano Rosso as the head of the fashion brand Marni. Another cap for the president of Maison Margiela.
Stefano Rosso strengthens his position within the OTB group. The company, owner of a brand portfolio including Maison Margiela, Diesel, Jil Sander, and Viktor & Rolf, announced the appointment of Stefano Rosso as the head of Marni, another label owned by the Italian company.
As the President of Maison Margiela and CEO of Brave Virtual Xperience (BVX) – the OTB Group business unit dedicated to developing products and experiences for virtual worlds and the metaverse – the 44-year-old Italian is already well-established in the luxury world. A member of the board of directors of OTB Group, he is also an integral part of the Aura Blockchain consortium, an organization aiming to develop traceability and transparency solutions for consumers, alongside LVMH, Prada Group, and Cartier. Additionally, he is the co-founder and CEO of the gaming platform D-Cave and has been the president of LR Vicenza, an Italian Serie C football club, for nearly six years.
As the new CEO of Marni, Stefano Rosso’s objective will be to strengthen and accelerate the brand’s positioning in the luxury ready-to-wear market.
“By appointing Stefano as CEO of Marni, we want to strengthen the leadership of a brand that is a fundamental driver for the growth of the entire OTB group,” stated Ubaldo Minelli, CEO of OTB Group.
Stefano Rosso succeeds Barbara Calò, who was promoted in November 2019 after three years as the worldwide sales director of Marni.
In 2011, Stefano became the director of business development at OTB Group, and in February 2013, he was appointed co-CEO. In 2017, he became the CEO of Diesel North America, a responsibility he relinquished at the end of his term in 2020. The son of Renzo Rosso, founder-president of OTB group, entered the family galaxy in 2005 as brand manager for the “5-pocket” (denim) category, then covered the role of director of strategic brand alliances at Diesel, where he managed collaborations with brands such as Adidas and Ducati.
