The sustainable development programs of luxury giants are all focused on preserving water, whether fresh or salt, a vital resource for our planet. Prada, Kering, and LVMH recently took advantage of high-profile events such as the Ocean Summit in Nice, Earth Day, and the ChangeNOW Summit to publicize their initiatives in this area.
Fresh water, salt water: the same fight for luxury?
Three major players in the sector, Prada, Kering, and LVMH, have recently demonstrated their awareness of this liquid gold, which is essential to the survival of the human race, through their commitment to sustainable development.
The most recent initiative comes from Prada, which took advantage of the highly publicized United Nations Ocean Conference 2025, which ends on June 13 in Nice, to announce a major evolution of its Sea Beyond program. This involves the launch of the “Sea Beyond – Multi-Partner Trust Fund for Connecting People and Ocean”, a multi-partner fund for ocean preservation.
Prada-UNESCO agreement signed at the Ocean Summit
The agreement was signed in Nice on June 11 by Audrey Azoulay, Director-General of UNESCO, and Lorenzo Bertelli, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility at the Prada Group and Executive Director of the global platform Ocean Decade Alliance.
