The Organizing Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (Cojop) has just tested the giant restaurant that will feed the 15,000 athletes expected for the competition. Installed under the nave of the Cité du Cinéma in Saint-Denis, it will serve cuisines from around the world and be responsible from an ecological and social standpoint…
“Faster, higher, stronger…together.”
To the famous Olympic motto, one could also add “larger, more responsible, more inclusive” to describe the mega restaurant of the Olympic and Paralympic village, which has just been tested at the Cité du Cinéma in Saint-Denis.
A little less than a month before the start of the Games, 200 guests, members of the Organizing Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (COJOP), employees of partner companies, and journalists were invited to test the main dining venue for the 15,000 athletes expected from around the world. It seems to be a successful bet…
It is now up to the catering provider Sodexo Live to maintain a pace that will be particularly… athletic.
For the specifications are impressive.

40,000 plates per day
At the rate of three per day, or a total of 40,000 plates per day, it is indeed up to the thousand Sodexo Live staff members to serve nearly one million meals throughout the competitions!
To achieve this, a main restaurant, with a capacity of 3,300 seats, has been installed under the nave of the Cité du Cinéma. It will be accessible twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week throughout the event.
For those who prefer not to sit down to eat, athletes can also visit the six takeaway points installed in the Olympic village.
As for the recipes, the organizers have ensured to survey 200 athletes and the national Olympic committees in advance.
