On June 5, 2025, at the Maison de l’Amérique Latine in Paris, the first edition of NEXTLUXES will be held, a unique professional gathering dedicated to the luxury industry, approached from the perspective of geostrategy, geopolitics, geoeconomics, and soft power.
The originator of this event is Coralie Omgba: after working in market finance in Paris and Luxembourg and then in private banking in Geneva, she now advises an international clientele on alternative investments in the luxury sector: passion investing, such as fine watchmaking, fine jewelry, and fine leather goods, as part of the diversification of her clients’ asset portfolios.
A geopolitical perspective on the world of luxury
NEXTLUXES aims to shed light on the new dynamics of a rapidly changing sector. Behind the dazzling shop windows and exceptional craftsmanship, French luxury has always been part of a broader geo-economic, geostrategic, diplomatic, and cultural conquest.
The event offers a unique approach to examining the role of luxury in a geo-economic and geopolitical context. Which are the emerging luxury markets? How is France maintaining its leading position in a globalized environment?
In addition to expert presentations, the event will provide a space for professionals in the sector to meet in a friendly setting.
Expert perspectives on the transformations of a globalized market
Starting at 1:30 p.m. and continuing throughout the afternoon, panels and conversations will explore the complexity of contemporary luxury. The ultra-luxury segment, aimed at UHNWIs (ultra high net worth individuals), will open the discussions with Clément Finet (PHILLIPS) and Lucile Andreani (CHRISTIE’S), who will share their insights into the expectations of the world’s most exclusive clientele.
Côme de Chérisey, former CEO of Gault & Millau, and Jacques Vergnaud, managing director of Les Deux Magots, will then analyze the place of French gastronomy in cultural diplomacy. Another highlight will be a presentation by business lawyer Stéphane Brabant (Trinity International) and Bruno Lavagna (Be.EXCLUSIVE), an expert in international luxury and geostrategy consultant, who will discuss the humanist values that luxury could bring to a market dominated by profitability and shed light on the striking power of French luxury in the global economy.
The discussions will continue with a look at the new economic powers influencing the future of the sector, moderated by business lawyer Jemal Taleb (DIAMANTIS & PARTNERS), with contributions from Seidik Abba (CIRES Think Tank) and Johanna Houdrouge, Vice-President (Mercure International of Monaco, AFCEM), before a unique round table on synergies between the music industry and luxury, with SACEM (Tchayé OKIO) and TSF Jazz (Sébastien Vidal).
The ticket price is €600, non-exchangeable and non-refundable, valid for one person, and includes access to all conferences, networking opportunities, refreshments, and a copy of Bruno Lavagna’s book “Géopolitique du luxe” (Geopolitics of Luxury), which will be sent to each participant.
