After almost a decade with the OTB Group-owned fashion house, Francesco Risso has announced his departure. A new era is dawning for Marni within the group led by Renzo Rosso, which is itself undergoing a period of transition.
Marni is over for Francesco Risso.
The Italian designer is bowing out after almost a decade—an eternity in the fashion world—as creative director of the Italian fashion house.
Francesco Risso was appointed to Marni in 2016, a few months after it was bought by his compatriot, the OTB Group, in 2012 (60%) and then in its entirety in 2015.
Unknown to the general public
Renzo Rosso, CEO of OTB Group, placed his trust in this talented designer, who had worked for major Italian fashion houses but was unknown to the general public, to succeed Consuelo Castiglioni, who founded the brand in 1994. Initially specializing in fur, the brand gradually expanded its universe to fashion in a broader sense.
