In less than a week’s time, the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will put the capital in the spotlight, and with it its establishments reflecting French chic. Focus on five luxury hotels close to the legendary Eiffel Tower, ideally located for this global event.
The Shangri-La Paris
The former home of Prince Roland Bonaparte, listed as a Historic Monument since 2009, the Shangri-La Paris is the hotel facing the Eiffel Tower par excellence. A veritable treasure of the 16th arrondissement, with its typically Haussmannian façade, the palace has been restored by architect Richard Martinet and decorated by Pierre-Yves Rochon. Marble, mouldings and crystal chandeliers blend Asian touches with French elegance. The 101 rooms and suites, in shades of blue, camel and light yellow, are as soothing as they are modern. Some have private terraces with breathtaking views of the Eiffel Tower. The Iron Lady can also be seen from the outdoor terrace. The Shangri-La Paris is home to France’s only Michelin-starred Chinese restaurant, the Shang Palace, led by chef Tony Xu. Bauhinia, by Quentin Testart, focuses on seafood cuisine. Finally, the lounge bar and its lounges reveal a hushed atmosphere at the height of luxury. The experience ends with the Chi spa, one of the most beautiful spas in the City of Light, with its majestic pool surrounded by antique columns and sculpted paintings with floral motifs.
