After several years of guest designers, the Jean-Paul Gaultier brand has recruited its first permanent artistic director in the person of Duran Lantink. It is up to this champion of circular and subversive fashion to help redefine the fashion offer of the famous Parisian fashion house, owned by the Puig group.
With the arrival of Duran Lantink as artistic director, Jean-Paul Gaultier put an end to the collaborative era that had characterized his fashion shows in recent years.
His first ready-to-wear collection will be presented at Paris Women’s Fashion Week on September 25. His first haute couture collection will be shown in January 2026.
The new enfant terrible of fashion
The Jean-Paul Gaultier fashion house has called on Duran Lantink, a 34-year-old Dutch designer, to take the creative reins.
The young man made a name for himself in 2018 by designing the vagina pants worn by singer Janelle Monae in her music video “Pynk”, before distinguishing himself a year later in the booming segment of circular fashion by launching his own fashion house.
