British carmaker Jaguar Land Rover has announced that it is temporarily suspending shipments of UK-made vehicles to the USA for the month of April 2025. The decision follows US President Donald Trump’s introduction of 25% tariffs on car imports, directly affecting costs for the brand.
Jaguar Land Rover explained that this shipping pause was part of its efforts to adjust its strategies in the face of the new trade terms. “We are implementing short-term measures, including a shipping pause in April, while developing medium- and long-term solutions,” the company said.
The USA, a key market for Jaguar Land Rover
The British automotive industry, which employs over 200,000 people, is feeling the full impact of the new tariffs imposed by the United States. This country represents the second largest market for British-made cars, just behind the European Union.
And Jaguar Land Rover, which remains one of the country’s leading manufacturers, sells almost 400,000 vehicles a year, including flagship models such as the Range Rover Sport and Defender.
