Just a few days after his appointment as Jacquemus president, Bastien Daguzan’s departure has been confirmed. Simon Porte Jacquemus will rely on a new sales director with a muscular CV, ex-Lvmh and Burberry, Mélissa Ait-Ouakli, to continue the company’s meteoric rise.
Not necessarily easy for two young fashion prodigies to cohabit…
Just a year and a half after his arrival in May 2022 as CEO of Jacquemus, and just a few days after his appointment as President, Bastian Daguzan’s departure was announced at the end of December.
Ideal combination
On paper, the combination seemed ideal. On the one hand, Simon Porte Jacquemus, a French designer who, at almost 34, has enjoyed an irresistible rise since launching his House in 2009 at the age of 19. With a combination of fresh, desirable looks, eye-catching accessories (like his micro-bags and straw macro-hats) and great ideas for creating buzz (including his miraculous Versailles fashion show last June, attended by the crème de la crème of the fashion world, nonchalantly seated on boats).
