The founders of Proenza Schouler, which in two decades has become a key label at New York Fashion Week, will replace Jonathan Anderson at the Spanish fashion house Loewe (LVMH group).
The suspense did not last long.
As expected by Planète Mode, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez are indeed the new artistic directors of Loewe. As of April 7, they will be “entrusted with the total creative responsibility for all LOEWE collections – women, men, leather goods and accessories,” explained the Spanish fashion house, a subsidiary of LVMH, in a press release on the morning of March 24.
They will thus replace Jonathan Anderson, whose departure was recently announced on March 17, and who many imagine will take over the creative direction of Dior, currently held by Maria Grazia Chiuri …
Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez resigned at the end of January from the artistic direction of their own House, Proenza Schouler, without their replacement having been appointed yet. The two designers will continue to look after their fashion house as shareholders and members of the board of directors.
A major challenge at Loewe
At Loewe, the challenge for the duo will be considerable, as their predecessor had succeeded in transforming a relatively confidential and ageing brand into an influential and powerful fashion house in the space of eleven years, boosting its reputation, turnover and profits.
