House Of Dior, a retail concept showcasing the Parisian fashion house’s entire range of products, including lifestyle items, has finally opened its doors in Beijing, the capital of the People’s Republic of China. This new flagship store is located in the Taikoo Li Sanlitun “open-air” shopping center.
On December 11, Dior CEO Delphine Arnault, Creative Director Jonathan Anderson, and brand ambassadors Zhou Ye and Deng Mei traveled to China for a landmark event: the opening of a very special store in Beijing.
Distribution in China is mainly a matter of malls, gigantic enclosed shopping centers. However, the inauguration of the House of Dior took place in a setting that is not very common in the Middle Kingdom: the Taikoo Li Sanlitun complex, a kind of brand village where the shopping experience takes place… in the open air!
The opening of such a five-story store in Beijing also contrasts with the recent past: after leading cities such as the capital, then Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen, the geographical expansion of Western luxury giants has increasingly focused on “new leading cities” such as Chengdu, Chongqing, and Hangzhou.
After Beverly Hills (October 2025) and Seoul with its Golden House (December 2024), this new House of Dior in China’s administrative capital demonstrates the LVMH group’s continued interest in the Middle Kingdom.
Monumental petals
Measuring 20 meters high each, the petals visible on the facade are undoubtedly the first thing that catches the eye when visiting the House of Dior in Taikoo Li Sanlitun. This sculptural facade is the work of French architect Christian de Portzamparc, who had already collaborated with the House of Dior on its flagship stores in Seoul and Geneva.
