Kering’s flagship fashion house has announced the departure of Sabato de Sarno, just two years after his arrival as artistic director. The Neapolitan designer had failed to revive sales, which accelerated in 2024.
Gucci has suffered a major setback.
A few days before the publication of its annual results on February 11 and the Milan Fashion Week show, the Kering group’s flagship fashion house announced, in a press release dated February 6, “ the end of its collaboration with Creative Director Sabato De Sarno”.
“The Autumn-Winter 2025 show on February 25 in Milan will be presented by Gucci’s creative studio” and ‘the new Artistic Direction will be announced in due course’, the Florentine House said.
Although Gucci’s persistent poor results since the Neapolitan designer’s arrival suggested a break-up, the Fashion Sphere did not expect such timing.
Sincere thanks…
Stefano Cantino, Gucci’s General Manager, expressed “his deep gratitude to Sabato for his passion and dedication to” the House.
