Galeries Lafayette has just inaugurated its new department store in Macao. This announcement confirms the French group’s expansion strategies in China.
After Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Chongqing, Galeries Lafayette inaugurated a new department store in Macao, China, on January 26. In attendance were Philippe Houzé, Nicolas Houzé, Nicolas Morineaux and Philippe Pedone, respectively member of the Management Board & Managing Director, CEO of Galeries Lafayette China and Senior Vice President International.
The new 3,300 m² space in “Eastern Monte Carlo” is part of the YOHO Resort World Shopping complex managed by Forward Fashion (International) Holdings Co. Ltd.
This listed company, which already operates more than 200 directly-operated boutiques for prestige brands in Greater China (including Stella McCartney, Moschino, Bose and La Maison du Chocolat), is responsible for managing the five-storey retail space.
A new address in China
Galeries Lafayette is one of six fashion and lifestyle brands to join the YOHO Resort World Shopping Center, which has been built near Nam Van Lake, at the central intersection of Macau’s Peninsula and Cotai.
This luxury experiential complex includes a shopping mall and a five-star hotel with 600 rooms and suites. The luxury YOHO Treasure Island Resort World Hotel (Treasure Island Hotel Macau when it opened).
