The Centre vinicole-Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte (CV-CNF) and the Coopérative régionale des vins de Champagne (CRVC) are merging to create a new giant in the sector.

The Wine Center-Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte, the leading brand in France and third largest operator in the world by volume, had a turnover of 212 million in 2019 and includes no less than 5,000 winemakers and 72 cooperatives. However, this grouping remains behind the number one in the sector, which is none other than LVMH, with the brands Moët & Chandon, Ruinart, or even Dom Pérignon.

Since 2020, the directors and management of the CV-CNF and the CRVC have been working together to bring their two organizations together, with the ambition of becoming “one of the three major operators in terms of sales within five years“. This merger was widely voted by the extraordinary general assemblies of the two entities, which met last Wednesday, and it will be effective as of December 31. Christophe Juarez, who was already CEO of Nicolas Feuillatte, will be CEO of the group.

Faced with the downward spiral of vineyard sales since the last crisis in 2008, the loss of 40 million bottles on the French market, it must be admitted that the sources of growth are now in exports,” said Veronique Blin, president of CV-CNF.

The group’s ambition is to reach the 300 million euro mark in sales, and 5% market share in volume, “by accelerating the development of the houses in five years and a new organization to achieve strategic objectives,” said the statement.
