The American House of Leather Goods has benefited from the growing craze for accessible luxury. It has climbed ten places, entering the Top 5 of the Lyst ranking for the fourth quarter 2024. UGG and COS were also big winners.
Affordable luxury continues to establish itself as a major trend in the fashion market, and thus in Lyst’s quarterly rankings.
A veritable trend barometer, the Lyst rankings identify the 20 most popular luxury brands on the web, from among the 17,000 brands distributed by the London-based platform to its 200 million-strong audience. To achieve this, purchasing habits, online searches, social network engagement and media coverage are all scrutinized.
The last three months of 2024 were particularly eagerly awaited.
Golden quarter
Lyst describes the period as “fashion’s golden quarter”, the time when people buy the gifts they’ll put under the tree, and sometimes go on trips to celebrate the end of the year…and buy duty free (or not). However, as early as last October, the platform was anticipating “further turbulence in the index as major fashion brands compete to capture holiday spending”.
