This year in Cannes, Isabelle Huppert walked the red carpet in a head-to-toe Balenciaga look. In stark contrast, her deconstructed distressed denim suit was enhanced by the majestic WOMAN brooch created by Elsa Jin.
The actress wore just one of the five flowers that make up this small masterpiece of Haute Joaillerie. A few days earlier, Brazilian supermodel Isabeli Fontana wore the complete brooch, forming an abundant cascade of chrysanthemums.
A breathtaking jewel, the story of a lifetime
The WOMAN brooch, the latest creation by Elsa Jin, features five chrysanthemums and symbolizes the five decades of a woman’s life. The designer never draws by chance; everything is inspired. For this piece, she had a vision while contemplating Klimt’s painting “The Three Ages of Woman” (1905), which depicts childhood, adulthood, and old age through three female figures. The five titanium flowers are all different sizes, from the smallest to the largest. Their chrysanthemum petals open more and more, slowly blooming like an allegory of the passing of time.
