Buoyed by all its markets and channels last year, the Italian cashmere specialist posted record sales last year. The allegations about its Russian operations, made this summer by Pertento Partners and then Morpheus Research, which the company denies, did not affect the company’s commercial performance.
Brunello Cucinelli showed great resilience in 2025. This was true both in relation to a luxury sector that continues to struggle and in relation to the “Russian affair”, which caused its share price to fall in Milan at the end of September.
As a reminder, the hedge fund Pertento Partners and then the short-selling company Morpheus Research had successively accused Brunello Cucinelli of violating strict regulations on the sale of luxury goods in Russia. But the company immediately responded by denying such practices and indicated that it was considering legal action to protect its reputation.
Record performance
Clearly, the accusations against the Italian cashmere specialist did not ultimately harm its financial performance last year.
