Fractional business jet operator Flexjet has entered into a historic contract with Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer. The $7 billion deal is reportedly the largest ever between the two aeronautical companies.
On February 4, Embraer Executive Jets, the business aviation division of the third largest commercial aircraft manufacturer after Boeing and Airbus, announced that it had signed a contract worth 7 billion dollars with the fractional jet provider Flexjet. A double record for both the American operator, which is celebrating its thirtieth anniversary this year, and for Embraer in terms of firm orders in business aviation.
With this new order, Flexjet intends to modernize and expand its fleet to meet the growing demand for high-end private travel.
The agreement covers the delivery of business jets, including several options, as well as a range of services and support.
Delivery is scheduled to take place next year and continue until 2031.
A record anniversary
This agreement with the manufacturer Embraer represents for Flexjet its largest order in its three decades of existence.
It will enable the fractional ownership business jet operator to virtually double the size of its fleet by 2031.
